STRIPPED

I've just finished reading Jud Wilhite's book Stripped: Uncensored Grace on the Streets of Vegas. Wow! It's full of amazing stories of God's grace in the lives of ordinary folk and faithful followers of Jesus who extend that grace.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes:
"Jesus showed us a different kind of strength, a strength found in grace, compassion, and forgiveness."
"Critiques and cynicism without solutions don't help anyone."
"Some churches taught (and still teach) that first you believe, then you behave, and finally you belong...But many churches are more or less reversing this order out of a love for people far from God. Their philosophy is first you belong, then you believe, and finally you behave."
"Jesus' number one emotional response mentioned in the Gospels is compassion."
"His life reveals that the more spiritually mature I am, the more approachable I am to people who feel far from God."
"Part of grace is giving people the space to journey things out."
"God promises to meet you where you are, but He won't leave you there. He'll begin a work of transformation in your life."
