Why are we doing this?
Jesus would start many conversations with the statement, "You have heard it said". This statement was usually followed by a tradition or common teaching of the day. Jesus would follow that up with, "but I tell you" and give some new perspective that would almost always rock the established religious people of his day. Our purpose for this blog is to spend some time looking at the "You have heard it said" ideas that exist in established religious circles today. We do not assume that we are able to pull off "but I tell you", ideas. We do not have the the "shmikah"(power and authority that a great rabbi or teacher would have) that Jesus had. We want to start the conversations and have you join with us in wondering what could be if, we were to follow Jesus in such a way that is both relevant and missional in our cultural contexts that we find ourselves in.

This is the greatest thing in the world. I can't wait to hear more.
